The Founder - Frida B.
Frida has founded The Paperweight with a razor-sharp purpose: to inspire justice. In her eyes, success is not defined by what one does for themselves, but by what one does for others. To cultivate this passion, Frida has dedicated her time to working in legal research and volunteering to assist juvenile delinquents in need. Aside from the world of politics and law, she often finds herself making short films and writing screenplays.
The Writers
Ana A.
Ana considers herself a storyteller. Her work has been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and has been published in literary journals such as Octopus Ink and Elementia. She writes with the hope of brightening the lives of those around her. You can often find her painting on old clothes, writing in the dead of night, playing the same five chords on her guitar, and gazing melodramatically at the sunset.
Vivienne F.
From a young age, Vivienne has been highly observant of the world around her. She finds meaning in learning both inside and outside of the classroom, with a particular passion in biology, a field she hopes to pursue as a career. Through writing, she hopes to share her insights she gathers from her curiosity of the natural world and her interest in current global events. Beyond academics, she commits herself to giving back to others, frequently spending her weekend volunteering at the Houston SPCA with the adoptable pets.
Nefellie F.
Nefellie believes the human voice is the most powerful tool we have, and she’s determined to use hers to make a difference. Whether it’s through speaking at Speech and Debate tournaments, singing in her school’s choir, or writing articles and poetry, she strives to share something unique. Outside of speaking and performing, she enjoys skating, spending time and laughing with friends, and collecting perfumes.
